Anyone else remember when Shaun White was the freakishly talented 15-year-old snowboarder who stunned everyone at the Winter X Games 11 years ago? It's still hard to think of him as anything but that young red-headed kid, but this is how short the shelf life is for most action sports athletes: White was the oldest competitor in the field at the Snowboard SuperPipe finals last night in Aspen. And compared to 14-year-old eighth-grader Ayumu Hirano, the Flying Tomato is like friggin' Kurt Thomas—if Thomas said "stoked" and shortened words like "appreciate" to "prec" in interviews.
