Christoph Waltz Hosts an SNL That Spoofs the Poop Cruise, Djesus Uncrossed, and Stephen A Smith

Last week's Saturday Night Live hosted by Justin Bieber was so bad that I refused out of principle to acknowledge it with a proper BroBible recap. It was the worst show of the season by far. The whole show felt like Bieber's PR militia was lurking over the shoulders of SNL's writing staff, making sure they don't write anything that will scuff up Bieber's squeaky-clean image. If you're writing sketch comedy for a bunch of 14-year old Belibers, it's probably not going to be very funny.

This week, however, SNL bounced back in a big way, as it tends to do the week after hitting a low point. Christoph Waltz was an energetic and charismatic host, obviously willing to take risks with his characters. For example, Waltz's Tarantino movie spoof, "Djesus Uncrossed," depicts Jesus in “ultimate historical revenge fantasy" coming back to slaughter Romans. The conservative media is already throwing hissy-fits about such a sketch airing during Lent. No way Bieber's handlers would ever let him take on such a controversial role.

All-in-all, it was a solid SNL, with Jay Pharoah dusting off his hilarious impression of Stephen A. Smith for Weekend Update and another classic Fox and Friends spoof. Plus the Alabama Shakes performed, with Brittany Howard shredding the shit out of her beautiful teal Gibson SG like a froshie rockstar. Check out what you missed below.
