There’s no doubt that the concept of “finding yourself” is pretty lame. All about achieving some sort of vulnerability, predicated on insufferable over-emotional self-reflection. It’s a lot, and to repeat--it’s not you. You don’t express emotions just because, and you certainly aren’t delusionally self-important enough to put some self-expression pinnacle over the more important things--the approval of your friends, and the maintenance that image you’ve worked so hard to perpetuate. Trying is overrated, anyway.
